Zhangjiajie Travel Planning Service: How We Work

What we handle, what the local partners handle, how a quote is put together — and the situations in which you would honestly be better off without us.

✓ Planning is free

✓ Itemised quotes

✓ One point of contact

The people side of the service — a local partner meeting travelers at the start of a planned day.

WHY THIS PAGE EXISTS

Said plainly, before any selling

Go To Zhangjiajie is a planning platform, not a tour operator. We design the route, handle the bookings and stay reachable; the trips themselves are delivered by local partners in Hunan.

That split matters, so this page is written around it. Below you will find who does what, how a quote is put together line by line, how partners are selected — and a section on when you would genuinely be better off arranging things yourself, with links to the guide pages that help you do it.

If you read one thing here, make it the quote section. Everything else follows from the fact that each part of a trip is priced separately and can be kept or dropped on its own.

THE SPLIT

Who does what

Two roles, kept explicit. When you know which side handles which part, it is clear where to raise a question and who fixes what.

PLANNING IS THE PART WE DO

The route comes first, the bookings follow it

Every trip starts as a plan: which site on which day, matched to ticket windows, drive times and your pace. Once you approve that plan, the bookings are made against it — not the other way round.

This is also why planning can be free. The route is designed before anything is bought, and if you take the plan and book it yourself, the guide pages are written to help you do exactly that.

The planning platform

What we handle

  • Route design — which site on which day, sequenced around ticket windows and drive times
  • Bookings made against your passport, with real-name registration handled where required
  • Rooms and transfers lined up together, in the city or in Wulingyuan
  • The rework — when weather, closures or availability change the plan, the days are rearranged
  • One point of contact, reachable before and during the trip

The local partners

What the partners handle

  • Guiding on the ground — the routes, the timings and the stories on the day itself
  • Driving and transfers between city, park and canyon
  • Entry logistics at the gates, where a local presence moves things along
  • The parts of the day that need someone physically there

COSTS

How a quote is put together

No single bundled figure. Each part of the trip is priced on its own line, so you can see what you are paying for and drop what you do not want.

STEP 1 Your request Dates, group size, the sites you care about, your pace. STEP 2 An itemised quote Guide days, tickets, rooms and transfers — each on its own line. STEP 3 Keep or drop parts Keep the guiding, drop the rooms, or take the plan and book alone. The itinerary and the quote come first. Payment comes after you have seen both.

From request to quote: nothing is charged before the plan is on the table.

🧾

Line by line, not bundled

Guiding days, entry tickets, rooms and transfers appear as separate lines, so each one can be judged — and dropped — on its own.

🆓

Planning carries no fee

The itinerary, the route design and the quote are free and come with no obligation to book any part of the trip with us.

🔁

Changed plans, reworked days

When weather or availability moves a slot, the affected days are rearranged around it. The rework is part of the service, not an extra.

THE HONEST PART

When you do not need us

A planning service should say this out loud. In these situations, the guide pages on this site will serve you better than a booking.

🎒

You like arranging things yourself

The guide pages exist for exactly this — tickets, transport and how the days divide, written to be used without us. Start with the without-a-tour guide or itinerary ideas by length.

🧭

You already travel with an operator

If a guide or driver is already arranged elsewhere, use them for the days on the ground. We fit when nothing is fixed yet and the route itself still needs designing.

🎟️

You only need one or two tickets

Single entry tickets can be bought directly, and where real-name registration applies it can be handled online. We add value when several sites, slots and transfers need to line up — less so for a single booking.

THE PARTNERS

How the local partners are chosen

“Vetted” should mean something specific. Here is what it means on this site.

🏞️

Experience on these exact sites

Partners work the National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain and the canyon week to week — the same routes your trip would follow, not a general knowledge of “China travel”.

📜

Licensed guides prioritized

Experienced guides and local operators are matched first, with licensed guides prioritized when they are available for your dates. Where a partner falls short of a request, it is said before booking, not after.

🗣️

English communication confirmed

Communication is checked before a trip is matched, because a route that cannot be explained is not a guided route. If a partner is not a fit for your trip type, the route goes to one who is.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Why Choose Us FAQ

Are you a travel agency or a booking platform?

Neither, exactly. We are a planning platform: the route design, the ticketing and the quote come from us, and the trips on the ground are delivered by vetted local partners. Planning and the itinerary are free; you pay for the parts you confirm.

What exactly is free, and what is paid?

The planning is free: the itinerary, the route design and the quote cost nothing and carry no obligation to book. What is paid are the booked parts themselves — guiding days, tickets, rooms and transfers — each shown as its own line in the quote.

What happens if plans change during the trip?

You have one point of contact before and during the trip. Weather, closures and shifted slots are a normal part of travel here, so a changed morning usually means the day is rearranged around it rather than abandoned.

Can you help with parts of a trip we booked ourselves?

Yes. Some travelers keep their own hotels and flights and ask for the ticketing, the timed slots and a guide for specific days only. Real-name registration for tickets is handled where required. If you would rather plan the whole trip yourself, the without-a-tour guide sets out what is realistic to arrange alone.

How are the local partners chosen?

Partners are selected for experience on these exact sites — the same routes they work week to week — with licensed guides prioritized and English communication confirmed before a trip is matched. If a partner is not a fit for your trip type, the route is matched to one who is.

Send your dates, see the plan first

The itinerary and the itemised quote come before any payment — and you decide after you have seen both. Planning is free, and there is no obligation to book.
